Step by Step
Installation of Type 4

Before Starting the Installation

* Unpack all the components and place
them on a clean surface (mat/sheet).
Check to make sure that you have recieved
all the components specified on the enclosed
parts list. If components are missing,
contact FabricAir, Inc. immediately.

* In order to keep the FabricAir ducts clean,
handle the ducts with clean hands. Make
sure that any tools which might come in
contact with the ducts have been cleaned
before use.

* Make sure that the necessary tools are
available - see the instructions.

* Provide hardware for anchoring - see items
1 & 3 under installation sequence.

* If the ducts are to be installed in a new
building, purge the handling systems and
install the prefilter before installing the
FabricAir ducts. This is done to remove
dust, which would otherwise collect in
the FabricAir duct.

Installation Sequence

1. Install the IPS T-rails (19) so the
spread of the rails equals the diameter of
the duct with a rail on the ends. Anchor the
rails directly to the overhead surface.
The ordered parts do not include screws as
the type to be used depends on the building
structure/anchor surface. Anchor with screws
using the flanges on the rail.

2. Once the rails have been installed, install
the FabricAir duct. If the duct is shorter
than 30', it will normally be delivered in
one section. If the duct exceeds 30' it will
normally be divided in sections with zippers.
Put the gliders of the duct into the rail. If
the duct is divided in sections - begin with
the first section.

3. When all sections are installed in the rail,
zip the sections together. Fasten the duct
to the hem connection on the AHU collar
with the mounting belt (17/18), and install
the end cap for T-rail (26).

Follow the above procedure for installing
FabricAir Plenum ducts. Zip the FabricAir ducts
to the FabricAir Plenum duct.

After Completing the Installation:

Always be sure to give the customer a
copy of the maintenance instructions
and information concerning mainte-
nance intervals.
