With a focus on creating the best possible environment for their plants, Moose Meadows turned to FabricAir for a customized fabric ducting solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Problem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key challenge for Moose Meadows was finding an HVAC solution that could provide uniform airflow across the canopy while maintaining strict hygiene standards. Their contractor needed a flush-mounted suspension system with extended straps for the ducting, and the ductwork itself needed to be antimicrobial to prevent contamination. Additionally, the facility required air dispersion capable of directing airflow precisely throughout the grow rooms to eliminate microclimates, all while ensuring easy maintenance and regular cleaning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FabricAir engineers and Territory Manager, Lewis Brooks, with expertise in HVAC for indoor grow environments, designed a custom solution to meet Moose Meadows\u2019 specific needs. Miles Quave at Moose Meadows, praised the simplicity of working with FabricAir, noting, \u201cThe whole process was easy\u2014once you provide your dimensions, it\u2019s straightforward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Using a combination of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabricair.com\/us\/products\/fabric-air-ducts\/flow-models\/oriflow\/\"><strong>OriFlow<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabricair.com\/us\/products\/fabric-air-ducts\/flow-models\/sonic-flow\/\"><strong>SonicFlow<\/strong><\/a> air dispersion models, the system was engineered to distribute air evenly and consistently, ensuring no hot spots or areas with stagnant air. The ducting was made from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabricair.com\/us\/products\/fabric-air-ducts\/fabrics\/combi-80\/\"><strong>Combi 80<\/strong><\/a>, a permeable, flame-retardant, and antimicrobial fabric, which is also washable and comes with a 10-year warranty.<\/p>\n<p>To simplify the installation and maintenance, FabricAir employed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabricair.com\/us\/products\/fabric-air-ducts\/suspension\/type-3\/\"><strong>Type 03<\/strong><\/a><strong> flush mount stainless steel T-rail<\/strong> suspension system with extended straps. This setup ensures the fabric ducts can be easily removed, laundered, and reinstalled, promoting long-term cleanliness in the facility. With 10,000 CFM total airflow, the system provided efficient air distribution for optimal plant growth. Quave, noted the advantages of fabric ducting for the cultivation industry, particularly the ease of cleaning and maintenance: <strong>\u201cThe washable, anti-microbial fabric makes it ideal for preventing contaminants, and it\u2019s easy to remove and decontaminate when needed.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The custom-engineered FabricAir system not only met Moose Meadows\u2019 operational requirements but also exceeded expectations in terms of ease of installation and maintenance. The entire system was installed by a team of three people in just a few hours, using basic tools and equipment. This fast and efficient process contrasts with traditional metal ducting, which would have taken several days to install.<\/p>\n<p>The consistent and even air distribution has helped Moose Meadows optimize the growing conditions in both the Veg\/Mother and Flower rooms, reducing the risk of microclimates and improving plant health.
