Air distribution in indoor spaces such as stores plays an important role in customer satisfaction and the overall shopping experience. Providing high indoor air quality ensures customers shop in a pleasant environment.

At the Adidas store located in one of the shopping malls in Turkey, air distribution was approached with both performance and aesthetics in mind. During the store’s renovation, the goal was clear: create a comfortable indoor climate for customers and staff while maintaining a sleek, modern design aligned with the brand’s visual identity. Fabric air ducts emerged as the solution that could deliver on both fronts.

Comfort Begins with Airflow

A well-designed indoor environment encourages customers to linger, browse, and engage more fully with a retail space. Evenly distributed airflow helps eliminate hot and cold spots, creating a stable and pleasant indoor climate while also supporting energy-efficient operation.
For the renovated store, fabric air ducts were selected not only for their performance advantages, but also for their ability to integrate seamlessly into the architectural design. Their soft form and clean lines allowed the air distribution system to become a natural part of the interior rather than a visible technical element.

A Tailored Fabric Air Duct Solution

The fabric air duct system designed for the Adidas store features Combi 30 fabric, chosen for its lightweight structure and balanced combination of aesthetics and functionality. To ensure the ducts retain their shape even when the system is not in operation, the Type 8 All-in-One suspension system was implemented.
Across the 24-meter installation, the system delivers an air volume of 6,000 m³/h. MicroFlow and SonicFlow airflow models were applied to achieve precise, even air distribution throughout the space. This combination ensures that air is supplied gently and efficiently, maintaining comfort without creating drafts—all while preserving a clean, seamless visual appearance.

Measurable Improvements and Visible Results

The introduction of fabric air ducts played a key role in enhancing indoor air comfort at the Adidas store. The system supports a pleasant shopping environment while blending effortlessly with the store’s modern design language.
Beyond aesthetics, fabric air ducts offer clear functional advantages in retail environments:

  • Even air distribution: Laser-cut perforations ensure uniform airflow across the entire space, minimizing temperature differences and eliminating dead zones.
  • Silent operation: Fabric air ducts operate almost noiselessly, down to NC15, avoiding the vibration and airflow noise often associated with metal duct systems.
  • Design flexibility: Available in a wide range of colors, patterns, and print options, fabric air ducts can be tailored to match architectural and branding requirements.
  • Fast, efficient installation: Their lightweight construction reduces ceiling load, shortens installation time, and lowers labor costs.

At the Adidas store in Turkey, fabric air ducts proved that air distribution can be both functional and design-driven, quietly enhancing comfort while supporting the overall retail experience.
