FabricAir introduces Combi Eco fabric
FabricAir introduces Combi Eco, a more sustainable version of the well-known Combi fabric. It delivers the same reliable performance customers have come to expect. The fabric is now produced in a cleaner, more responsible way through dope dyed yarn technology.
Same Trusted Performance
Combi Eco matches the proven performance of the standard Combi fabric that customers already know. It offers the same strength, durability and cleaning characteristics. The only change lies in how the yarn is dyed. This keeps technical performance intact while enabling a more sustainable production process. To further boost sustainability, permeability in the relevant Combi Eco variants is kept to a minimum, without relying on chemical coatings.
In dope dyed yarn production, colour pigments go directly into the liquid polymer before the yarn is extruded. This differs from dyeing the fabric after weaving. The method protects the fabric’s technical properties while adding environmental benefits.
Combi Eco works with most existing FabricAir designs and installations. This makes it straightforward to specify for new projects and ongoing ones alike.
Significant Environmental Advantages
Dope dyed yarn helps FabricAir cut the environmental footprint of fabric production significantly:
- Up to 90% less water usage than conventional dyeing
- Lower chemical usage during production, plus less wastewater
- 42% lower CO₂ emissions
This process removes the multiple dye baths and chemical treatments that wet dyeing usually needs. The result is a cleaner and more efficient production method.
Enhanced Colour Durability
The pigment becomes part of the fibre itself, so Combi Eco offers stronger colourfastness and better resistance to fading. Colour embedded this deeply resists washing and UV exposure more effectively. This helps ducts keep their visual appearance for longer.
Built for Projects Where Responsibility Matters
Combi Eco complies with REACH and RoHS directives and meets Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 requirements. It gives project teams a responsible choice when sustainability matters, without compromising the performance of standard Combi fabric.
The fabric comes in a selection of popular colours, with further options available on request.
With Combi Eco, FabricAir keeps moving forward, pairing proven performance with a more responsible production approach. Customers can meet their environmental goals while keeping the quality they expect.
