The Challenge

Palacio de Hierro Guadalajara aimed to deliver a premium shopping experience where elegant design and exceptional indoor comfort go hand in hand. Maintaining this standard in a high-traffic retail environment presented several challenges: ensuring stable temperatures without creating drafts, improving overall air circulation to avoid CO₂ buildup and odors, and integrating an HVAC solution that would not disrupt the store’s sophisticated architectural style.

The Solution

To meet these demands, FabricAir partnered with Aire y Refrigeración Vical to design and install a fabric ducting system tailored specifically for the store’s functional and aesthetic needs. The solution featured circular ducts manufactured in dark gray Combi 85® fabric, chosen to blend seamlessly into the interior design. The installation was supported by a Type 8 All-in-One suspension system, providing a fast, efficient setup with a clean, unobtrusive appearance.
For air distribution, the system combined two advanced airflow models: MicroFlow® and SonicFlow®. MicroFlow® ensured a gentle, uniform airflow through microscopic perforations, ideal for maintaining comfort without drafts. Complementing this, SonicFlow® delivered high-velocity air movement with minimal turbulence and no added noise, perfect for spaces requiring both performance and discretion.
To meet the store’s ventilation needs, the system delivered a total airflow of 6000 CFM, ensuring proper air renewal throughout the entire sales floor. In total, 460 linear meters of fabric ducting were installed, providing consistent, homogeneous air distribution across all zones of the store.

The Result

With the FabricAir textile ducting system in place, Palacio de Hierro Guadalajara achieved a remarkably comfortable, visually cohesive environment. Customers benefit from improved thermal comfort, free from drafts or temperature variations, while optimized air circulation significantly reduces CO₂ levels and unwanted odors. The store now maintains a stable temperature of 22°C, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Equally important, the system integrates flawlessly into the store’s interior design, maintaining the elegant aesthetic that defines Palacio de Hierro. The project demonstrates how FabricAir solutions can elevate indoor comfort and air quality without compromising architectural beauty.
