Aesthetic and quiet air distribution at Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Texas

The challenge

The church’s priority was to solve uneven air distribution. Before the renovation, the sanctuary relied on two air grilles positioned on either side of the stage, with no ductwork extending into the worship space. As a result, conditioned air reached only the first 25-30 feet of the room, leaving much of the congregation outside the effective comfortable zone.

The limited air distribution also created noticeable HVAC noise, making it difficult to achieve the quiet atmosphere expected during services.

The installation of a fabric duct system allowed the church to distribute air evenly throughout the sanctuary while creating a more welcoming environment for worshippers.

A Solution Designed for Performance and Appearance

FabricAir was selected for several reasons, including its lightweight design, ease of installation, and architectural flexibility. The ability to select a fabric color that complemented the sanctuary, combined with the fact that the system required no painting after installation, made it an attractive alternative to traditional metal ductwork.

The installed system features Combi70 fabric for durability and visual consistency, paired with Oriflow for gentle, draft-free airflow well suited to occupied worship spaces. A Type 8 suspension system with Rapid Slider ensures secure yet flexible mounting, while a fabric square-to-round transition provides a seamless connection to the existing ductwork. Together, these components were carefully engineered to deliver uniform, quiet airflow throughout the sanctuary, proving that comfort and performance don’t have to come at the expense of architectural character.

To maintain a clean, consistent appearance, the duct system was designed with 360° hoops that keep the duct fully inflated during operation, providing a neat architectural finish.

Results

During the evaluation process, the church contacted multiple fabric duct manufacturers. While only two companies responded, FabricAir distinguished itself by visiting the site to fully understand the project’s requirements and recommend the most suitable air distribution system.

That hands-on approach helped ensure the final duct system met both the church’s comfort goals and design expectations. The new system achieved the following:

Members of the congregation have commented on the improved temperature consistency, while church leadership has praised both the appearance and overall performance of the new air distribution system.
