Vitrinor Factory, Spain
Background
Vitrinor, founded in 1995, specializes in the manufacturing of vitrified steel and aluminum kitchenware under the renowned brand MAGEFESA, with a factory in Guriezo (Cantabria). Over time, increased production has brought significant challenges, especially in terms of employee comfort within the enameling production plant. The industrial machinery, especially in the oven area, generated a considerable amount of heat, and neither the evaporative equipment nor the air diffusers were able to solve the problem efficiently. Imprecise air dispersion and extreme heat lead to very high indoor temperatures making an uncomfortable working environment.

Solution
The technical department of Vitrinor took the initiative to seek a more effective solution and contacted FabricAir, a company specializing in fabric air dispersion systems for air diffusion and ventilation. The challenge was clear: the plant had a large number of production lines and workstations, and the distribution of fresh air was insufficient due to very localized airflow that did not reach all the occupants. Some areas had strong drafts of airflow while in other nearby areas, the airflow was barely noticeable.
The FabricAir team tackled the challenge by designing a fabric air dispersion duct system made from our Combi 20 and Combi 30 fabrics to achieve more uniform distribution of fresh air throughout the space, eliminating differences in air currents and significantly improving the working environment. The project required careful consideration of the complexity of some areas due to the limited space to install the ducts and the difficulty of routing them from fixed equipment on the roof.
The system has 5 zones, each with its own configuration and combination of OriFlow and JetFlow airflow models to ensure the air reaches the occupied zone in the most optimal way. The Type 08 H-rail suspension system with All-In-One shape retention ensures a sturdy, attractive look. The RapidSlider hanging system facilitates and reduces the installation time and, therefore minimizes maintenance times and plant downtime.
Result
The design flexibility offered by FabricAir fabric ducts enabled engineers to meet the needs of each zone of the system to the factory space they were addressing. The custom engineered design effectively achieves a uniform temperature throughout the space. Some zones required high velocity air locally, while others needed uniform distribution to ensure the optimal comfort of the workers.
Moreover, the installation could be carried out by two internal maintenance staff members, without the need for additional specialized tools or personnel. After the initial installation and seeing the results, Vitrinor will implement this diffusion system in other remaining areas of their facilities.
