Fabric Duct System Delivers Optimal Comfort for High-Ceiling Showroom
Automotive showrooms with high ceilings can have unique HVAC challenges, requiring systems that deliver precise airflow while maintaining sleek, modern aesthetics that complement the interior design and structure. When the Inoto Showroom in Turkey needed an air distribution solution for their new facility, they turned to FabricAir to overcome the limitations of traditional metal ductwork in their large-volume, high-ceiling space.
The Challenge: Achieving Comfort in a Complex Environment
Inoto’s new showroom features modern architecture with expansive open areas and soaring ceilings – a design that creates air distribution challenges. The facility needed a system that could provide even temperature control throughout the space without creating uncomfortable hot or cold spots that could detract from the customer experience.
Traditional metal duct systems posed several limitations for this application. The high ceiling height would have required excessive air velocities, creating disturbing, potentially uneven airflow throughout the showroom. Additionally, metal ductwork would have demanded higher operating pressures, significantly increasing energy consumption and requiring larger HVAC equipment – a concern for a project prioritizing energy efficiency.
A Custom Engineered Solution
The FabricAir design team developed a custom fabric duct system specifically engineered to address Inoto’s challenges. The solution utilized Combi 20 fabric designed to distribute 8,040 m³/h of conditioned air throughout the showroom space.
Key System Features
Advanced Air Distribution Technology: The system uses the Oriflow airflow model (laser-cut holes in the fabric), which enables precise airflow control that ensures efficient heating and cooling performance even in the challenging high-ceiling environment.
Aesthetic Integration: Recognizing the importance of visual appeal in an automotive showroom, the fabric ducts were designed to complement the facility’s modern aesthetic. The Type 8 All-in-One suspension system maintains the ducts’ stylish appearance even when the HVAC system is not operating.
Energy-Efficient Performance: The fabric duct system operates at lower pressures than traditional metal alternatives, reducing energy consumption while delivering superior air distribution performance.
Measurable Results
The FabricAir installation has transformed Inoto Showroom into a comfortable, energy-efficient environment that enhances both customer and staff experiences.
Uniform Air Distribution: The system eliminates dead spots and temperature variations, ensuring consistent comfort throughout the entire showroom space.
Enhanced Visual Appeal: The fabric ducts integrate seamlessly with the showroom’s ceiling design, maintaining clean sight lines without compromising the facility’s modern aesthetic.
Superior Energy Efficiency: Compared to traditional metal ductwork, the FabricAir system delivers the same comfort levels while consuming significantly less energy, supporting the client’s sustainability goals.
This successful installation demonstrates FabricAir’s capability to solve complex air distribution challenges in commercial environments where both performance and aesthetics are critical. The Inoto Showroom project serves as a reference for other automotive dealerships and large-volume commercial spaces seeking efficient, visually appealing HVAC solutions.
The combination of technical performance, energy efficiency, and aesthetic integration positions fabric duct technology as an ideal solution for modern commercial spaces that refuse to compromise on comfort or design.
