Custom fabric duct provides optimal airflow and comfort for climbing facility
Biwak Climbing’s new climbing wall in Bizkaia, Spain, is equipped with FabricAir textile diffusion systems. The ventilation system was a crucial consideration during the center’s development to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for climbers.
Adapting to Functional Needs
Indoor climbing spaces require a ventilation system that can cater to their unique functional needs. Biwak Climbing required a system that could constantly refresh the air, preventing odors and minimizing potentially harmful drafts that could lead to muscle injuries.
Tailored Ducting System
FabricAir’s team of professionals designed a custom 110-meter-long fabric ducting system that seamlessly integrated with the center’s layout and training elements. Working in collaboration with installation company Asofrigo and technical partner Fanair Norte, the textile ducts were suspended using an anodized aluminum suspension system (Type 08 with All-in-One). Adjustable suspension cables were utilized to ensure precise installation.
Optimal Air Quality
FabricAir’s Combi 90 material, treated with antimicrobial agents, was used for the fabric ducts, guaranteeing hygienic, optimal air quality. The custom engineered air dispersion system combined JetFlow and OriFlow diffusion patterns to achieve comfortable, uniform airflow without creating drafts. This resulted in an environment that met the highest standards of safety and comfort for athletes in the space.
Improved Airflow and Noise Reduction
Since the implementation of FabricAir’s textile diffusion system, noticeable improvements have been observed. Odors have been eliminated, ensuring a uniformly fresh atmosphere throughout the facility. Moreover, the system’s unique sound properties have effectively eliminated noise, enhancing the overall comfort for occupants and providing added value to the climbing center.
