Cutting-Edge Fabric Ducts Transform IAQ at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Vilnius, Lithuania, has recently completed a project to improve the air quality in its auditoriums. Faced with the challenge of modernizing their ventilation system, the university turned to FabricAir, a leading fabric-based HVAC solutions provider. The system needed to provide comfortable, draft free air to the occupied space and maintain its shape whether the system was turned on or off.

To address this unique challenge, FabricAir custom-engineered a unique, but efficient fabric duct system combining SonicFlow and MicroFlow to efficiently achieve ideal airflow for the space. The custom-designed suspension system ensures that the fabric ducts maintain their shape regardless of the operational state to achieve a consistent aesthetic. This approach provided stability and durability to the ducting system, tailored to the university’s specific needs.

White rectangle-shaped fabric ducts installed on the left and right side of the ceiling in the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University auditorium to improve the indoor air quality and offer draft free airflow to ensure a comfortable learning environment for faculty and students.

The project involved the installation of 16 fabric ducts of various sizes, spanning a total length of 200 meters. The white Combi 30 fabric was chosen to seamlessly blend with the auditoriums’ existing interiors.

The successful implementation of this project resulted in significant improvement in air quality for the university’s eight auditoriums. With FabricAir’s state-of-the-art solution, students and faculty at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University can now enjoy enhanced indoor air conditions, providing a conducive learning and working environment for both students and faculty.
