A heated indoor pool and a high-traffic fitness floor don’t just look different. They ventilate differently, too. At Enjoy Albacete, a modern sports and wellness center that has become a local benchmark for quality and design, delivering the right air to the right space – without drafts, without noise, and without compromising aesthetics – required more than a one-size-fits-all approach.
The answer was fabric ducts, installed in two distinct configurations across the complex.

Enjoy Albacete Sports Center

Two Spaces, Two Problems

The indoor pool presented the challenge familiar to any aquatics facility: chloramine-laden, moisture-saturated air that must be carefully managed without blasting users with uncomfortable airflow. Conventional ventilation risks stirring up the very contaminants it aims to remove.

The fitness area posed a different problem entirely. With high occupancy, intense physical activity, and the need to continuously renew stale air, the priority was even, high-volume distribution — reaching every corner of a large open space without creating hot spots, cold pockets, or dead zones.

A System Built for Each Environment

FabricAir engineered separate fabric duct solutions for each zone, specifying both material and airflow model to match the conditions.

In the pool, ducts made from Combi 90 – a fabric built for humid, hygiene-sensitive environments, were combined with the SonicFlow diffusion model. SonicFlow directs air through rows of precision-oriented micro-perforations, producing a controlled, draft-free discharge that maintains thermal comfort without disturbing chloramines at surface level.

In the training area, Combi 85 fabric ducts were paired with PerfoFlow – an airflow model that disperses large air volumes omnidirectionally. The result is continuous, directionless air renewal that keeps the environment fresh and temperature-stable even at peak occupancy, when the demand on the system is at its highest.
Both systems were suspended using the Type 08 All-In-One hardware, which enables fast, precisely aligned installation while keeping the ceiling plane clean and maintenance access straightforward.

Branding Built Into the Ductwork

Beyond performance, Enjoy Albacete had another requirement: the ventilation system had to look like it belonged. The fabric ducts were manufactured in the center’s corporate orange and printed with the Enjoy logo directly on the surface, turning functional infrastructure into a visible extension of the brand.
It’s an increasingly common demand in premium sports and leisure facilities, where the ceiling is part of the experience.

Measurable Improvements

Since commissioning, the facility reports a healthy, draft-free atmosphere in the pool area, with no humidity accumulation, and a consistently fresh, well-ventilated environment in the training zone that has meaningfully improved the user experience during sessions.

For sports facility operators navigating spaces with conflicting ventilation demands, the Enjoy Albacete installation makes the case plainly: fabric duct systems, properly specified, can be engineered to meet each environment on its own terms — and still look the part.

The Enjoy Albacete sports center, a modern facility dedicated to physical activity and health, has become a local benchmark thanks to its functional design and high-quality equipment. With distinct zones such as a heated indoor pool and large fitness areas, the main challenge was to ensure optimal environmental conditions for users in spaces with very different requirements.

Background

In sports facilities like Enjoy Albacete, proper ventilation is key to ensuring thermal comfort and indoor air quality. However, each area within the complex presents specific challenges:

  • In the indoor pool, it was essential to maintain a comfortable atmosphere and prevent the accumulation of humidity and chloramines without causing unpleasant drafts.
  • In the training area, the goal was to achieve an even distribution of air to ensure user comfort and improve air renewal during physical activity.
The overall objective was clear: to implement an efficient, silent ventilation solution that could be perfectly adapted to each space—without compromising the center’s design or functionality.

Solution

To address these challenges, two FabricAir textile duct systems were installed, each specifically designed for their respective environments within the complex.

  • Indoor Pool: Textile ducts made from Combi 90 – a durable, resilient fabric ideal for humid environments where hygiene and airflow stability are priorities, were used.
The chosen diffusion model was SonicFlow™, which directs air through rows of strategically oriented micro-perforations. This setup enables controlled, draft-free ventilation, ensuring thermal comfort for users without stirring up chloramines.
  • Training Area: In this zone, ducts made from Combi 85 were used—equally resistant and suitable for intensive use.
To achieve even air distribution, the PerfoFlow™ diffusion model was selected, which disperses large volumes of air without a fixed direction. This is ideal for renewing the air, dissipating odors, and maintaining a constant temperature, even during peak occupancy.
  • Integrated Aesthetics: Beyond functionality, the system’s visual appeal was also key for both the client and the project team. The ducts were designed in Enjoy’s corporate orange and customized with the brand’s logo printed directly onto them, achieving flawless visual integration with the center’s architectural environment.
  • Suspension System: Both systems were installed using the Type 08 All-In-One system, a solution that allows for quick, aligned installation while also ensuring visual harmony and easy access for maintenance.

Results

Since both systems were commissioned, Enjoy Albacete has seen significant improvements in comfort and air quality across its facilities:

  • In the pool area, the environment is healthy and pleasant, with no humidity buildup or uncomfortable drafts.
  • In the training zone, the atmosphere remains fresh, stable, and well-ventilated, significantly enhancing the user experience.
  • Additionally, the custom aesthetic reinforces the center’s visual identity and contributes to a coherent and professional brand image.

This case demonstrates how a textile solution like FabricAir’s can be adapted to sports environments with very different needs, offering a well-balanced result in terms of comfort, operational efficiency, aesthetics, and brand customization.
