Perfect air distribution for stale air environments

Huge facilities with hundreds of servers generate a lot of heat and carbon dioxide, therefore perfect air distribution must be top-notch. Fabric-based air distribution solutions can help your systems work smoothly and efficiently.

We have the experience and the know how to guide you through your project

Even air distribution

Distributes air evenly throughout vast open and even low-ceiling spaces

Proven durability for decades to come

High Indoor Air Quality

Creates a perfect and draft-free environment

Telecom Facility, Canada

“Generally, temperatures have fallen slightly in what used to be hottest parts of the aisle and risen slightly in what used to be coldest parts of the aisle, consistent with the nearly perfectly even air distribution the FabricAir ducts provide. A modest overall temperature reduction was realized, with a before average temperature of 25.2°C, and an after average temperature of 24.8°C. Removal of the flex duct hoses has made movement up on the grid MUCH easier, and eliminated the risk of the hoses being damaged or moved.”

FAQ

Servers and telecommunications equipment produce concentrated heat loads, and different racks or aisles may have very different cooling requirements. Air distribution therefore needs to deliver cooling where it is required while limiting local hot spots and unnecessary airflow in areas with lower loads.

The Canadian telecom project recorded a change in average aisle temperature from 25.2°C to 24.8°C after the new system was installed. More importantly, the project reported that previously warmer and cooler areas moved closer together, indicating a more even temperature distribution. These figures are specific to that installation.

The previous installation used flexible hoses around a dense equipment grid. Removing them made movement and maintenance access easier and reduced the risk of hoses being moved or damaged around the equipment.

Different profiles and flow models can be used to control how the duct fits into the available space and where cooling air is directed. This gives designers more flexibility in areas with dense services, low ceilings, or changing rack layouts.

VarioDuct

The FabricAir® VarioDuct™ provides different flow models for cooling and/or heating purposes. It is tailored with an internal membrane that separates the two airflows.

Ceiling Diffusers

FabricAir® Ceiling Diffusers are fully insulated, they prevent energy loss, eliminate any risk of condensation and are therefore suitable for isothermal or cooling conditions, and can be deployed for supply and extract air.
