Danfoss, Denmark

“We wanted to use a fabric solution to optimize our energy usage through lower pressure drop. FabricAir has delivered a good solution for our air transportation purposes.

In fact, we’ve ordered a slightly smaller duct for the other end of the same production facility.”

Manager of GS-RBT & Senior Consultant HVAC, Danfoss Global Service

FAQ

Manufacturing spaces can contain machinery, processes, and work zones with very different heat loads. Even air distribution can help reduce local temperature variations and support more stable conditions for employees, equipment, and temperature-sensitive processes.

Related terms: manufacturing HVAC, temperature stability, employee comfort, equipment heat load, flow models, fabric ducts in manufacturing environments

Danfoss selected a fabric solution to transport a large volume of air while minimizing pressure drop. The customer reported being satisfied enough with the result to order another, slightly smaller system for the opposite end of the production facility.

Related terms: Danfoss, pressure drop, air transportation, energy efficiency, industrial HVAC, pressure loss and HVAC energy use

Some manufacturing processes, including electronics, medical production, and other controlled applications, require tighter control of airborne particles and materials. Selected fabrics have documented cleanroom classifications and can be specified when the project requires them.

Related terms: cleanroom-rated fabric, controlled manufacturing, particle control, pharmacy, labs and cleanrooms, cleanroom certificates, fabric specification

Because fabric ducts are lightweight and require less heavy handling than large rigid duct sections, installation can often be planned with less disruption to ongoing operations. Whether production can continue during installation depends on the facility, access, safety requirements, and project scope.

Related terms: production downtime, lightweight ducting, installation planning, active manufacturing facility, fabric duct installation, HVAC installation logistics
