Yayla Gıda Chooses Fabric Ducts for Its New Production Facility in Niğde, Türkiye
Food production facilities are environments where every variable must be carefully controlled to ensure safety. Cleanliness, adequate humidity and stable temperatures are a must in facilities where food is prepared. These requirements become even more important, and a bigger challenge, as the size of the facility increases.
FabricAir and Yayla Gıda successfully met these challenges at Yayla Gıda’s newest production facility in Niğde, Türkiye. A plant of this scale required an HVAC system that could adapt to the needs of each area of the production floor while ensuring high standards of hygiene.
The Challenge
Yayla Gıda’s new facility came with two key requirements: scale and hygiene.
The system had to cover different areas of the plant, from production to packaging, within one very large facility. Every zone needed a stable, controlled environment, but each also called for its own approach depending on the tasks carried out there.
Hygiene mattered just as much as scale. Food production facilities need HVAC systems that are easy to clean and maintain. Besides the cleanliness of the system itself, Yayla Gıda needed a solution that could withstand the intense cleaning routines typical of a food production facility without corroding over time.
Why FabricAir
Fabric ducts were considered for their high hygiene standards, easy maintenance and quick installation with almost no disruption to production.
FabricAir delivered a solution using our Combi 90 antimicrobial fabric. Combi 90 complies with ISO Cleanroom Class 3 requirements. The use of antimicrobial fabric helps prevent microbiological growth on the inner and outer surfaces of the ducts, supporting product safety. Fabric ducting also simplifies cleaning and maintenance, extending the system’s life and performance over many years.
The Solution
Our team in Türkiye designed a system to move 438,666 m³/h of air through 1,582 meters of fabric duct across the facility.
Two airflow patterns support the plant’s varied zones. In zones where gentle, low-velocity airflow was preferred, MicroFlow dispersed air through fine perforations along the duct surface. Where air needed to reach farther, SonicFlow directed it through precisely placed laser-cut openings. This combination provided tailored airflow zone by zone, instead of forcing every area to rely on the same setup.
The Type 8 All-in-One suspension system rounds out the installation. It keeps the fabric ducts in shape even when the system isn’t running, giving the facility a tidy, consistent look throughout.
Results
- Safety: Antimicrobial fabric prevents microbial growth on the fabric surface, supporting a hygienic production environment and product safety.
- Easier maintenance and longer life: The lightweight fabric ducts and easy-to-install suspension system allow the ducts to be quickly lowered and reinstalled for regular cleaning, making maintenance easier, without disruptions to daily operations. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance also help extend the system’s service life.
- Comfort: The system helps keep fan energy use in check while providing a more comfortable environment throughout long production shifts, and the combination of two flow models allows the needs of each zone to be met.
- Energy efficiency: The system’s low-pressure operation contributes to reduced energy consumption. Maintaining a consistent temperature across the different production areas helps the whole system run more efficiently.
Yayla Gıda received the “Sustainable Development Goals Compliant Production Award in the Food Category” for its sustainable production approach. At its new production facility in Niğde, Türkiye the HVAC system was also designed with energy efficiency, long service life, and regular maintenance needs in mind.
