Over 3.3 km of fabric ducts for a new Amazon facility
When building its new warehouse facilities in Germany, e-commerce leader Amazon decided they must be equipped with an innovative and maintenance-free air distribution system. To design such a solution, Amazon representatives turned to the experts at FabricAir, a leading manufacturer of fabric-based air dispersion systems.
Despite strong competition from other companies, FabricAir won the project due to the superior quality of their air dispersion product, VarioDuct
VarioDuct is a unique type of fabric duct that provides different flow models for cooling as well as heating. The tailored internal membrane separates the two airflows. Depending on which flow pattern is needed, a damper changes position and moves the internal membrane up or down, covering half of the duct. No additional work is required on the construction side for mounting making VarioDuct an easy to install, “Plug and Play” solution.

The new Amazon facility will include 3.36 km of VarioDuct, utilizing 112 sections of duct. This project marks a major milestone for FabricAir and further strengthens the ongoing relationship between the companies. Amazon has also incorporated FabricAir solutions in their facilities in Spain, the United Kingdom, and other European countries.
