With over 30 years of history, the Circuito de Barcelona-Cataluña has established itself as a motorsport icon in Southern Europe, attracting not only top-tier sporting competitions but also a wide range of corporate events. In this context, the circuit’s “hospitality” service offers companies a unique and exclusive setting for corporate events within its facilities, where the high-competition atmosphere and the prestige of the venue add value to each occasion.
Background
In order to expand its range of spaces and enhance the user experience, Circuito de Barcelona-Cataluña decided to create a new space within its facilities, specifically designed for hosting high-level corporate events. Due to the need to ensure optimal comfort for attendees, even during peak season and high temperatures, the organization sought FabricAir’s collaboration to install a textile duct system that would ensure efficient, uniform air distribution seamlessly integrated into the design of the new space.
Solution
To meet the specific needs of the new corporate event space at Circuito de Barcelona-Cataluña, the textile duct system was designed and customized by FabricAir. Given the room’s size and layout, the system was divided into six independent modules, ensuring efficient, homogeneous air distribution to cover every corner of the room. Each module consists of two ducts in red fabric (their corporate color), which distribute air through a combination of SonicFlow and FabFlow flow models. These models enable precise control of speed and direction, avoiding drafts and ensuring optimal thermal comfort throughout the space. Additionally, the air induction created by the FabricAir textile diffusion system is challenging to achieve with traditional diffusers, even with conventional linear diffusers, due to the room’s height.
For easy installation and maintenance, the textile ducts were suspended with the Type 08 suspension with All-In-One for shape retention. The RapidSlider ensures the quick and secure sliding of ducts along anodized aluminum tracks, facilitating assembly and disassembly within minutes. Furthermore, the RapidSlider ensures the stability and proper alignment of the ducts, providing a professional aesthetic finish that complements the space’s design.
Results
The modular division and the combination of SonicFlow and FabFlow models achieve uniform air diffusion without uncomfortable drafts and thermal stability that optimizes comfort throughout the space, regardless of season or number of attendees. Aesthetically, the system integrates seamlessly into the environment, and the red fabric ducts reinforce the circuit’s corporate identity, creating a cohesive and professional image for clients and companies visiting the facilities.
Thanks to this high-tech solution, the air conditioning system in the new space not only meets efficiency and functionality requirements but also integrates visually, reinforcing the brand identity of Circuito de Barcelona-Cataluña.
