As India’s fitness industry continues to grow rapidly, gym operators are increasingly looking for HVAC solutions that combine performance, aesthetics, and fast project execution. When TX Fitclub in Ahmedabad set out to develop its new commercial gym facility, the project team needed an air distribution system capable of meeting both technical and visual expectations within a tight installation timeline.

FabricAir’s textile ducting solution proved to be the ideal fit.

The Challenge

Speed, Comfort, and Aesthetics in a Modern Gym Environment

Modern fitness centres demand much more from HVAC systems than simple cooling. Large open workout spaces, high occupancy levels, and intense physical activity require consistent airflow and temperature control to maintain user comfort throughout the facility.

For the TX Fitclub project, the customer’s primary concerns included: faster installation, cost-effectiveness, and reliable air distribution.

Because the gym featured an exposed ceiling design, the visual integration of the ducting system also became an important consideration.

Why FabricAir Was Chosen

The project was delivered through a design-build HVAC contractor who recommended FabricAir based on previous successful collaborations and the system’s proven performance advantages.

One of the key factors behind the decision was the ability to design the fabric ducting system within an ESP range of only 100–120 Pa. This helped reduce both installation costs and machine energy consumption compared to traditional metal ducting systems.

In addition, FabricAir’s presentation and reference projects helped address the client’s concerns regarding comfort, aesthetics, airflow performance, and installation reliability.

A Tailored Solution for Fitness Facilities

The HVAC system for TX Fitclub was designed using:

  • Sonic Flow
  • Type 1 suspension system
  • Combi 60 fabric
  • AiO ring suspension system

To optimize air distribution within the gym environment, the duct system incorporated specially positioned orifices at the 5 o’clock and 7 o’clock positions. This configuration ensured even and draft-free airflow throughout the workout areas while supporting overall thermal comfort.

The ducts were installed in a dark grey color, allowing them to blend seamlessly with the facility’s industrial-style open ceiling design and contribute positively to the gym’s visual identity.

Fast Installation and On-Time Delivery

Installation was completed successfully, with the project delivered fully on schedule.

The lightweight nature of the fabric ducting system played a major role in simplifying installation and accelerating commissioning compared to traditional sheet metal ductwork.

For fast-growing fitness facilities in India, where project timelines and operational readiness are increasingly critical, rapid installation represents a significant advantage.

The Results

Following installation, TX Fitclub experienced clear improvements across several performance areas:

  • Even airflow throughout the facility,
  • Improved air comfort,
  • Better temperature consistency,
  • Reduced noise levels,
  • Enhanced user satisfaction,
  • Improved energy efficiency.

According to the design-build contractor, the customer was “100% satisfied” with the performance of the FabricAir ducting system.

Supporting India’s Growing Fitness Industry

TX Fitclub represents the first FabricAir fitness installation in Ahmedabad and reflects a broader trend within India’s rapidly expanding fitness and sports infrastructure market.

In hot climate regions where indoor fitness facilities are becoming more popular, fast HVAC installation, efficient cooling, and modern aesthetics are playing an increasingly important role, making fabric ducting solutions an attractive alternative to traditional metal systems.

For TX Fitclub, FabricAir delivered a solution that combined performance, speed, comfort, and design flexibility in a single integrated system.
