Background

The world’s largest online seller contacted FabricAir while planning the opening of a new distribution center in Chihuahua, Mexico. In this region, the high temperatures faced throughout the year pose significant challenges in preserving the products stored in the warehouses. The ambient temperature of 33° C not only compromised the integrity of stored items but also created an uncomfortable environment for occupants. The global company needed a solution that would reduce the temperature and ensure a comfortable and stable environment for both personnel and products.

Secondary: MicroFlow™

Solution

FabricAir proposed the implementation of an innovative air dispersion system using textile ducts, which utilizes two air flow models: SonicFlow and MicroFlow. The custom engineered system is designed to efficiently control the temperature throughout the warehouse.

SonicFlow is a directional flow model that ensures precise and focused air dispersion, avoiding unwanted air currents and ensuring uniform airflow distribution in specific areas. MicroFlow is a surface flow model that distributes air through the surface of the duct. Air is gradually dispersed at low speed, allowing for precise temperature control and long-lasting stabilization.

The textile ducts are made with the nonpermeable, waterproof Combi 65 fabric, ensuring high durability and ease of maintenance. Additionally, the Oeko-Tex 100 certification and a 10-year warranty confirm the quality and reliability of the product.

Results

Following the installation of FabricAir’s air dispersion systems, the temperature in the warehouses of the world’s largest online seller was reduced from 33°C to 23°C. Additionally, a draft-free environment was created, helping maintain a consistent temperature and protect stored items. The implementation of the FabricAir system ensured the quality of stored products but also provided a more comfortable working environment for personnel.
