FabricAir is introducing Combi Eco, a more sustainable version of the well-known Combi fabric. It delivers the same reliable performance customers expect, now produced in a cleaner and more responsible way thanks to dope dyed yarn technology.

Same Trusted Performance

Combi Eco offers the same proven performance as the regular Combi fabric that customers know and rely on. It delivers the same strength, durability, and cleaning characteristics. The only difference is the dyeing method used for the yarn, which ensures the same technical performance while enabling a more sustainable production process. Further improving sustainability, the permeability of the respective Combi Eco variants is reduced to a minimum without the use of chemical coatings.

In dope dyed yarn production, color pigments are added directly into the liquid polymer before the yarn is extruded, rather than dyeing the fabric after weaving. This method preserves the technical properties of the fabric while delivering environmental benefits.

Combi Eco is fully compatible with most existing FabricAir designs and installations, making it easy to specify for both new and ongoing projects.

Significant Environmental Advantages

By using dope dyed yarn, FabricAir significantly reduces the environmental footprint of fabric production:

  • Up to 90% reduction in water usage compared to conventional dyeing
  • Reduced chemical usage during production and wastewater
  • 42% lower CO₂ emissions

The process eliminates multiple dye baths and chemical treatments typically required in wet dyeing, contributing to a cleaner and more efficient production method.

Enhanced Color Durability

Because the pigment becomes an inherent part of the fiber, Combi Eco provides superior colorfastness and resistance to fading. The deeply embedded color improves resistance to washing and UV exposure, helping ducts maintain their visual appearance over time.

Built for Projects Where Responsibility Matters

Combi Eco complies with REACH and ROHS directives and meets the requirements of Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. It offers a responsible choice for projects where sustainability is a priority, while maintaining the same performance as the standard Combi fabric.

The fabric is available in a selection of popular colors, with additional options offered upon request.

With Combi Eco, FabricAir continues to move forward by combining proven performance with a more responsible production approach, helping customers meet their environmental goals while maintaining the quality they rely on.
