Fabric Duct System Creates a Comfortable Workspace
A world-renowned fragrance manufacturer selected FabricAir’s innovative fabric air dispersion system for their office space in Mumbai, India. To meet the unique needs of this environment, a custom-engineered solution was designed by FabricAir engineer Rahul Patil, to ensure precision air distribution, enhanced comfort, and energy efficiency.
Enhanced Air Quality and Comfort
The air distribution system for the office space features two airflow models: MicroFlow for low-velocity surface airflow and FabFlow for permeable airflow.
- MicroFlow distributes air gently through the surface of the duct via microperforations, preventing dust and other particles from accumulating on or inside the ducts and eliminating the risk of condensation near the duct’s surface.
- FabFlow complements this by releasing air through the fabric’s permeable surface, maintaining a steady, gentle airflow throughout the office. This combination provides uniform cooling without drafts or temperature fluctuations, making it ideal for the open-plan design of the office. Together, these flow models ensure a healthier, more comfortable work environment, free from hot and cold spots.
Aesthetic and Functional Customization
The fabric ducts installed in the office are made from Combi 20 fabric in dark gray, blending seamlessly into the office’s modern aesthetic. FabricAir’s All-in-One shape retention allows the ducts to retain their shape even when airflow is off, ensuring a consistent and sleek appearance. Additionally, the Oeko-Tex 100 certified material is machine-washable, making maintenance easy while ensuring longevity and hygiene in the workspace. The ducts are suspended using an H-rail system with vertical cable drops, providing a seamless, easy-to-install solution with FabricAir’s RapidSlider system, further enhancing the visual appeal of the office.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
One of the standout benefits of FabricAir duct systems is their ability to improve energy efficiency. Fabric ducts are lighter and require less energy to distribute air compared to traditional metal ductwork. This results in significant reductions in HVAC energy consumption, helping the company lower their overall utility costs while contributing to their sustainability goals. Additionally, the quick installation of the system minimized disruptions to their operations, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
With FabricAir’s custom ducting solution, the company has transformed their office into a space that prioritizes comfort and air quality. The combination of innovative air dispersion technology and a sleek design has created a healthier, more productive workspace for employees, while reducing operational costs and energy consumption.
